Equine Biomechanics

Equine biomechanics (including equine gait analysis) applies the same biomechanics principles that are used in human sports science, performance analysis and rehabilitation to work with horses.

This work is focused to:

  • improve competitive performance in equine sports,
  • collect baseline data to profile horses and to compare to biomechanical changes,
  • prevent and rehabilitate equine injuries or
  • increase the body of knowledge in equine movement.

Through formal course attendance in equine gait analysis and being a dedicated horse owner, combined with my expertise in biomechanics and movement analysis I am committed to growing the field of Equine Biomechanics in Australia through research and analysis.
